Monthly progress report (November 2022)

Hello. I hope you are all doing well and having a good time.

I finally got around to writing this post. There has been a serious power outage in my city for the last month, so I try to use all the time that can be spent on the game to the maximum.

Basically, I would say that the work on the update is 55% complete. All scenes are ready and almost all of them rendered. There will be six scenes in total in this update.

I made a model of an enemy soldier from the second planet (one of the scenes will be with him).


Also made a model and the location itself for the second planet.

I want to completely overhaul the beat-em-up part of the game. Because let's be honest, it sucks. This is generally the very first thing I did for the game, and at that moment I knew much less about writing code and engine features. 

I want to redo both the mechanics and improve the animation. So from the visual part, I just have to complete and render the animations for fights. After that, I can fully start writing code.

I also plan to fix some bugs and finish the save system. Lately I've been concerned about the optimization of the game, I read about how you can compress the size of video and audio files in order to speed up loading. I also got confused about how to write code more efficiently. In the last update, there were comments from some players regarding the fact that the game is very slow. I would be very grateful if you leave a comment in the comments about how the game worked on your device.
