Other than Vult, who has made it no secret what kind of person he is, most of the bosses by this point in the game were already trying desperately to justify their atrocious actions. The Black Beast's influence just made that part easier, on top of letting out their worst impulses. Kuroinu: You think I made you what you are? Oh no, it was you. You chose this path... You chose to worship me and betray your country! I just lit the way. Also, considering what we know of the "Corruption Mechanic", that might actually be the case for the latter... make one careful not to fall off the wagon.

2023-08-16 01:00:17 +0000 UTCConsidering the other bad guys seemed to have convinced themselves that they were doing the right thing and actually saving or protecting the women they betrayed, I’m pretty sure I know where this is heading… but I do wonder if they were just fooling themselves or if the Black Dog was preying on those feelings to manipulate them. The latter suggests even a protagonist trying to be better than that might not be safe…
