Tetsuo The Iron Man
Added 2025-07-01 07:24:13 +0000 UTCHere's a short review or rather a simple recommendation for one of my favorite movies to watch when I'm stoned and alone at 3 am browsing the free streaming apps. There's not much that needs to be said, even devoid of context the visuals say it all. If just looking at some of this stuff doesn't convince you to check this out, you probably have buttons for eyes.
I wish i could still go in a video store to rent this, it's not even a movie you own, it feels like a rental. If i had my own video store it would be open only at nighttime, and this would be playing on a loop, on mute, hooked up to a jukebox so people could music video it up.
Basically this movie is Eraserhead and Akira combined. Oddly enough Akira came out before this, which is very strange because it also has a guy named Tetsuo turning into a very similar pile of tubes and meat. Did one inspire the other or were they both the product of a shared psychosis travelling through the air in Japan in the late 80s? I have no idea. Either way, it's awesome.
