Echo - Pod 9 : Cool Independent Artists

This episode is Indie as fuck. Oh wait, they all are, cause I'm indie as fuck. In fact I'm the only one. Everyone else is a pretender. I've done everything myself for 15 years and I have nothing to show for it, so asking me about independent artists is like asking Van Gogh if he knows any decent painters.

Nevertheless i will bless you with some secret knowledge of cool acts i know of because I'm just such a wonderful, giving person. I would love to also bless you with a hilarious accompanying text post, but as usual I'm too fucking hot and it's putting me in a bad mood. So instead I wrote a miserable one and then deleted it.

I just spent an hour sitting here and sweating out numerous profound paragraphs that you people aren't even ready for yet. It had to be scrapped because it was all too bitterly insightful and real for anyone to handle who hasn't already walked through the fire.

If you don't know what i mean, spend a lifetime as an independent artist yourself, then you'll know, I won't spoil it. Instead I'll regale you with the story of my day at Psychopathic Records, a true independent label founded by legit rap pioneers, who also happen to be wicked clowns. I'll also teach you about the rockin-est and rollin-est of Rock and/or Roll, and the scorniest underground wrestling you've ever heard of.

Maybe someday I'll tell ya the real shit, when you're ready. But this is Independent Artists 101 and class is in session. You have to learn about the wicked shit, and the scorny shit, before you can even hope to be wicked and scorny enough to understand the real shit. You gotta learn about cool Japanese garage bands before you can rescue the world with RocknRoll. You gotta gobdamn fucking flobble urrga goo. Oh crap i seem to have stopped giving a shit ok goodbye.

Cool video. Electric Eel Shock sounds rad as fuck. I love that electric but intimate garage sound that a lot of Japanese bands use. My last car only had a CD player so I was back on the cd listening grind in the 2020's. I even burned my own cd's using youtube dlp and windows media player. Streaming music is a lot easier for my ADD-addled brain, but there's something to be said about creating your own playlist that you're forced to listen to with no if and or buts, as well as buying whatever looks cool.

4you

Will there be a review for Mania?
