Scott Pilgrim Vs The World Vs Scott Pilgrim Takes Off
Added 2024-02-29 01:01:32 +0000 UTCDude, video games, ya know? Here's a happy little talk with myself about Scott Pilgrim that someone asked for. Both the movie from 2010, which i can assure you was very hip and cool at the time, and the new Netflix series which somehow manages to still be hip and cool despite me being 14 years more ancient and jaded.
There was too much to talk about to just do a video about one or the other, and they're both more interesting in comparison. The new series compliments the movie really well and does a great job of elevating the franchise as a whole by building on what worked and patching up some of what didn't.
I'd tell you more here but then i would just be repeating everything i say in the video, so stop reading and listen.

Ay, a twofer! I requested the movie, but I'm glad you talked about the anime. But yknow the "heart" you said the movie lacked but the anime had? Well, you get way more of that in the comic. It's more of a romcom than an action comedy, so everyone gets more development and they're more likeable. Ramona's flaws get directly addressed and she grows with Scott by the end. It made me appreciate the movie the same way the anime did for you. The anime is great, but I don't like the nihilism that (spoilers) Future Scott brings. The comic had the best ending.
