Evil Dead: Remember Ash? He's back, in game form!
Added 2023-06-29 22:16:27 +0000 UTCThe Evil Dead is an anomaly of a horror franchise in that there's never really been a bad one, unless you count the games. There's definitely been bad games, i'm looking at the proof right now.
I vaguely remember there being one for ps1 that was just an RE clone, so it probably wasn't too terrible, and there was a ps2 one that i think people liked. Who knows, maybe people even like this one, but i ain't one of em. Cause it's one of those online kinda games that i don't understand and don't wish to.
Of all the video game genres to fit this franchise into, i don't think this is the right one. I mean it essentially just plays like that Dead by Daylight game with all the horror movie guys in it, but i mean, just put evil dead in that then. Making this it's own game just tricked me into playing it, and when i get tricked into playing a game i don't like, i get cranky. And when i get cranky i get curmudgeonly. And when i get curmudgeonly i get... bored.
It took me about 20 minutes to never want to play this game again, and i shaved that down to about 11 minutes of complaining. The rest of it was mostly snoring.
I heard a story one time about some fan complaining to Bruce Campbell that The Evil Dead games sucked, and Bruce replied that the fan probably just sucks at them. Well if not wanting to play this kind of game means i suck at it, i will gladly bear that cross.
