Roadmap -> into 2021

Hey all! I'm not dead yet! I figured it'd be good to put out a status update amid everything going on. I mentioned recently that I suddenly became really busy with a few different things, not the least of which is peak season at my dayjob - we're starting our shifts 2ish hours earlier than usual, but I'm still part-time so it shouldn't impact things too terribly much, other than how much energy I have to do stuff afterwards lol

Other than that, the other big thing is something I've kept mostly quiet about but have mentioned every now and then, so here we go! Around this time last year, "A Taste Of Something Else was accepted for publishing by Fenris Publishing \o/ and since then we've been working on the somewhat-sizable edits and rewrites to that old-ass story. About halfway through November I finally got back the second pass of edits on it, and pushed back my commission queue and other personal projects to focus solely on getting that cleaned and wrapped up for the final version.

The main plotline is almost entirely the same as what used to be available in my galleries, though there have been several small changes as well as entirely new scenes added in, and a couple of the events were reordered in the story to improve the overall flow. Along with that, I just finished rewriting the entire beginning of the story, from the first chapter to about 6 or 7 in, and everything else from then on is taking a lot of small little tweaks and changes, mainly to punctuation, grammar, and flow and stuff like that. I can really tell which scenes remained from the original version and which I added in later on!

We don't really have a timeline on the release date of this yet, but I was given a 2-3 month soft deadline on the completion of this pass of edits. I started it when I received it back in mid-November and right now I'm rrrroughly halfway through, but I am planning to go back and do another quick clean-up pass once I finish this main go, so it likely won't be done until at least the end of December, and likely well into January, too. From there it's back off to the editing team again for one last quick pass, and then I think from there into the final printing.

Of course I tossed in Keave as a suggestion for the cover art, though as of yet I haven't heard back on whether they've made their choice there.

So! I'm actually chugging along at a good rate of a chapter per day on these edits, with my usual schedule of leaving weekends out, so this pass should be done in about 2 more weeks, and then my second final pass will be just a quick scan-through to make sure I didn't miss anything. So, yeah, this will keep me busy until sometime in January, at which point I'm planning to get right back into chopping out my queue.

Along with that! I realized with those Kinktober story sketches, that since they're so quick and easy, I may be able to start offering story rewards to patrons again \o/ so I'll think on that some and see what I can come up with heading forward.
