Yessss, the first time around felt like I was constantly on edge as if I was actually in the show, constantly surrounded by people I couldn't trust. Now some of that edge is taken off and I can actually understand the motivations of everyone

I want to tell you that my husband stopped watching this show when Eddard Stark died and hasn't watched since. I, on the other hand, was so angry I had to continue watching so that I could see these evil ass bastards get their comeuppance. I still can't stand Sansa at this point. Joffrey is insane and can't be controlled. I feel bad for Dany because just when she lands on some level footing, the rug is pulled out again. Thus begins the tradition of the penultimate episode of a Game of Thrones season being very important to the story. Glad you are hooked in, and can't wait to see your next episode reaction.

I keep reflecting on how much more powerful it is watching GOT a second time through. There is soo much detail and foreshadowing that just enriches the experience knowing more deeply what some of the revelations mean on a different level, and also I'm just a bit less overwhelmed by all the chaos and trauma that I can absorb so much more from every scene. Even if we stop at season 1, it was such a great ride Caitlin!

I remember watching this episode during lunch at work and I couldn’t function after. I suddenly forgot how to do things. 🥲😅

I started my own "kill" list right about when Sansa's wolf was killed, but it was this last moment in episode 9 when I switched to a shorter "who to save" list, because I was slowly realizing it would be futile to try to keep track of anything else. If Ned could die, well then how could I expect anything good to last. I was still mad at Sansa, but Arya, well I knew she couldn't possibly ever be the same or feel the same about anyone. For me it started with Arya, Jon, Bran and the remaining wolves. Samwell is in the running, but still not convinced he could live through a strong cold.

Years later and I still can't really watch that ending.
But I did absolutely love that scene between Maester Aemon and Jon. The entire dialogue is so well done.

Especially after rewatching the series, it's heartbreaking to see how kind he was to his children and to everyone around him. Not a scene went by where we weren't shown how much love that man had, how much patience, mercy, and strength. I've fallen in love with his character all over again, it's so hard to watch it

She’s lucky she’s watching it now…she can watch them back to back. The weeks between episodes and the years between seasons was agonizing.

When I tell you I was devastated when Ned died, I was DEVASTATED. I kept thinking "there's no way he dies he's a main character!" And look. LOOK! That's when I learned in the game of thrones, no one is safe

It’s super interesting that George Martin took some inspiration from the Bible. With the persecution of Ned mirroring that of Christ in a sense.
My heart was so broken at this moment. Somehow I was still so shocked
