'Old Buck' Beasts of the Mesozoic Artwork! :D
Added 2022-02-14 12:29:03 +0000 UTCDavid Silva and I are teaming up to create an 'Old Buck' Beasts of the Mesozoic figure. This isn't going to be a simple repaint of the existing Styracosaurus model anymore. The frill and nasal horns will be re-sculpted to better reflect the 'Old Buck' character. We're also considering doing 'plain' and 'bloody' versions corresponding to the opening and closing of the film.
Above are my final pieces for the packing art for the figure! I made two variants; plain and bloody. ^_^
I felt it was very important to show off the Old Buck's head-frill and horns so I tried an unconventionally symmetrical, head-on view of the character. I figured I'd also use the portrait format to my advantage, stacking all the iconography of the film on top of itself into a tower. There's a samurai-showdown vibe to the colours and composition that reflects the film as well.
