"Dinosauria" Update #30: Nearly finished!

This is just a quick update telling you guys that "Sea and Sky" is almost finished. I have a couple more shots to animate, a bunch of animation tweaks, and sound recording/editing left to do. The Early Patreon Version/Youtube Teaser should be out some time this month! ^_^

Above are some screenshots of the other non-dinosaurs that will feature in the film. These animals are supposed to be juvenile Cretoxyrhina but I think the skulls are too long and narrow so I'll probably add that to the "animation tweaks" list.

Cretoxyrhina is one of the best-understood prehistoric sharks out there. We have a number of exceptionally well preserved specimens which is rare for a shark as they have cartilaginous bones that don't fossilise very well. This shark could grow up to 8 meters in length and we have evidence to suggest that it hunted small mosasaurs and pterosaurs, which are the two other groups that will feature in the film.

There is even a particularly fascinating fossil of a Pteranodon with a Cretoxyrhina tooth embedded in the animal's neck, which I think may have been the very fossil that inspired the inclusion of the species in the first place! :D
