"Dinosauria" Update #28: Sea and Sky!
Added 2021-12-14 19:58:01 +0000 UTCWith "A More Ancient Spring" out of the way, I've focussed all of my attention on the fourth film in my "Dinosauria Series" which is currently called "Sea and Sky". It follows a group of Pteranodon sternbergi (Geosternergia) trying to hunt during a storm approximately 85 million years ago... but there are dangerous creatures in these Cretaceous seas.
"Sea and Sky" looks like it'll be one of the shorter films in the series at around 3-4 minutes long but that hasn't made it any easier. Every shot in this film has been more difficult than average with constant rain, thunder, and splashes on top of the numerous other aerial and underwater effects. Pterosaurs are also some of the hardest animals I've ever attempted to animate in my life as nothing alive today moves like they did.
Not a single shot in this film has been straight-forward but I'm quite proud of the effects I've managed to pull off so far! :D
I don't exactly know when it will be finished but it's been going relatively smoothly so far!
