I do ship Dongyuan quite a bit in an OT3 with our main pairing. And god the show really made his ending hurt so much more than the novel. I will also say that the weak point of the show is the part of the plot they changed for censorship reasons. So a lot of the stuff around the video game aspect is...messy. I can't really say more right now for spoiler reasons, but...yeah. Similar to Guardian with it's "aliens" cover, some of the stuff doesn't really hold up to close interrogation.

2025-10-29 01:31:40 +0000 UTCThe Lady of the Rain Door: this is just the best!!! I love Xiong Qi and Xiao Ke with my whole heart THE LYCHEE SCENE, AH THE LYCHEE SCENE! I start laughing hysterically every time I see them being sold in shops I freaking hate this show. It's my third time watching it, and I'm still crying like a goddamn baby. What I find absolutely best and worst aspect of this whole delayed death thing is that on one hand, they have time to say their goodbyes, on the other - everybody already knows what will happen and have to be aware that they're unable to stop it. It's a different kind of torture... I also freaking hate Gao Dawei, Jiushi's former friend. I understand his whole "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" thing, but he already abandoned Jiushi once before, and this time he KNEW that the game that HE CREATED would put him in mortal danger, and he STILL purposefully did it. The Sunny Doll Door yesssss. Jiushi's temporary descent to madness and the knife disarming was as heartbreaking as it was kinda hot lol
