Harrrrrrd agree. It also gives me the strong impression that the line goes unfinished because humanity can't be summed up in a sentence. Morality is more complex than humans being this or that, which is on display with almost every character in the show, including Gihun himself.

But what I always read it as was this: what humanity is, is not for any single person to define. We define our own humanity through our actions. Gihun did so directly after his words. He defined his own humanity. He defined himself, stripped the VIPs of a triumphant climax and instead had them sit and stare at a lone child who could not cheer or cry or provide them the entertainment they wished for. And the choice to have him say that, then for 11 to take her finger off the trigger with her faith in humanity restored, the choice to pan to an innocent child, a symbol of the future of humanity that may be shaped by the sacrifices of good people. The baby girl is hope. It was the perfect line. It deserves to be left unfinished because humanity is not finished and hope is still alive even in the darkest of circumstances.

Though it didn't really register with me, but that might be because it's not my native language? At least I'm used to people sounding "off" in a language I speak. Ironically enough, when you said they should have the budget to have someone consult on the language, my first thought was "You'd think so, wouldn't you?" Lord knows big budget US productions have messed up their German more times than I can count
