THE MEN IN BLACK

"In the summer of 1967 an oddball character wandered into that restaurant. He was tall

and awkward, dressed in an ill-fitting black suit that seemed out of style. His chin came

to a sharp point and his eyes bulged slightly like "thyroid eyes." He sat down in a booth

and gestured to the waitress with his long, tapering fingers.

'Something to eat,' he mumbled. The waitress handed him a menu. He stared at it

uncomprehendingly, apparently unable to read. 'Food,' he said almost pleadingly.

'How about a steak?' she offered.

'Good.'

She brought him a steak with all the trimmings. He stared at it for a long moment and

then picked up his knife and fork, glancing around at the other diners. It was obvious he

did not know how to handle the implements."

—John Keel, The Mothman Prophecies

Throughout the modern history of the UFO, dating all the way back to the 1940s, many witnesses have described encounters with odd individuals colloquially known today as the "Men in Black". This name comes from the fact that these individuals have been reported to wear out-of-date, ill-fitting and poorly maintained black suits.

For quite some time, it was believed that these men were agents in the employ of the U.S. Air Force or FBI, actively suppressing UFO sightings, but it later became evident this was not the case (though the sightings continue on to this day). The U.S. Air Force even issued a classified communique in the late-1960s noting that any evidence of "third parties impersonating Air Force officers and dressed in black suits" should be reported to Air Force intelligence immediately…

Sounds like they might be related to the visitor from Sick Again. Definite Tsan Chan feelers. Ages ago I wrote my own campaign with Tsan Chan sending agents back through time... so I can definitely use this.

Nice. I want to be surprised.

Sounds more like something tied into the Lloigor or a version of WH Hodgsons Night Land. 4900AD is also proximal the empire of Tsan Chan.

Nope.

I would imagine Keel is where Fringe got them, too (more of less). Worth a read.

I'm getting the vibe that you've either folded the "real" MIB into the Mi-go stuff and they are just their newest puppets or this is some Great Race of Yith mind projection shenanigans happening here.

Thomas Cunningham

They’ll be…elsewhere. But they’ll be official.

Dennis Detwiller

Amazing, very creative! is this going to be part of a supplement (e.g. “Those Who Come After”, “Operational history”) ?

Fabio Santos

Thank you!

Mike Nusbaum

Ah still cool either way

Max Mason

He didn't make this up. The Mothman Prophecies is a real book. Look up Indrid Cold as well.

Thomas Cunningham

I very much get the vibe of the Observers from Fringe and that is delightful to me. Love this.
