Taylor Swift - Miss Americana Reaction + Bonus vault track Reaction

Comments

saying "taylor swift is the music industry" is not meant to be as literal as i think you took it! it's more like when people say bts "paved the way" for kpop, taylor swift was that for the current/new generation of artists who are singer/songwriters. both are objectively true, even if you aren't an army or swiftie

Hi I loved the reaction and can't wait for more!!!! Here are some cool videos to check out for when you decide to react to 1989 (which I think you should do next) Taylor Swift Grammy Museum listening party + performances: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVGbjszns3A And the Tour: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5JLMp08GC0 These are both quite long but definitely worth the watch:)

Great reaction! I love this doc, it’s almost like a comfort movie for me lol. Random but I will say that when/if you plan on listening to Speak Now TV and you’re using spotify or apple music, you NEED to make sure your audio settings are right (for spotify it’s disabling the audio normalization) I had it on on my first listen and it really threw me off with how it sounded. :)

Awesome reaction Jim! So glad you got to know a bit more about Taylor as a person and human being. Pretty much everything has been already recommended, so I'll just wait and see what you decide do next. There is most definitely lots of Taylor content. Can't wait.

Loved the reaction! Just my 2 cents. Maybe listen to Lover next since it's the album she was working on in the documentary. Plus it's the album right after Reputation and before Folklore so a bridge for the albums you've already heard. Also, she jumps from different sounds album to album so it might help fill in where she went from Reputation and what sound came before Folklore. I don't think it's her most popular album but I like it and I would love to hear your thoughts on it. Or I would suggest her most recent album, Midnights. I love it and you can hear what she's been working on most recently. (Aside from her re-records)

I love this doc, its so good and gives you a lot of perspective on her as a person. One of the reasons she likely didn't talk about the label stuff is because she didn't want to get sued. She didn't even think she was going to be able to use her old songs and tour footage in this doc because of her old label. She had to put them on blast publicly because their teams couldn't come to an agreement and the public put a bunch of pressure on the label to let her use her old stuff in the documentary. During this documentary she was recording the Lover album, so that might be a good tie in. You just saw what was going through her life during the making of the album. The documentary also had the BTS for a few of her videos from that album. Her 3 albums that have won the Grammy for album of the year are Fearless, 1989, and Folklore. You already did folklore, so maybe try out one of the other two? Or jump all the way back to the debut album when she was 16. Wherever you go, it'll be fun! And there will be a lot of music videos to watch lol!!

Sasha

I'm so glad you watched this! It really does put a lot of things into perspective. I love that's she's speaking out a lot more now, even with things such as how the music industry works, and even societal norms. I think you're right, I think she's going to keep going and going as long as she wants to. All that hard work has definitely paid off!

Thanks man! I really appreciate that.

I know I already mentioned I'm a 33year old dude in another comment but I really wanted to say that you really remind me of some of my best friends but with a lot of amazing knowledge of the music industry, production, etc. And that makes me relate to your videos. That plus your honesty and enthusiasm really makes for wonderful content.

TSTS1989

I would say do lover next because those are the songs she was working on in this documentary so you’ll be have a better understanding of them.

If you want an interesting order to approach Taylor’s discography, here is an order that will bounce you around from genre to genre: - Speak Now Taylor’s Version (2023) (originally released 2010) - Midnights (2022) - Red Taylor’s Version (2021) (originally released 2012) - Lover (2019) (**These two particularly go well back to back as the first is considered her “heartbreak” album and the latter her “in love” album) - Fearless Taylor’s Version (2021) (originally released 2008) - 1989 (2014) (**these two are cool back to back as they are her 2 album of the year Grammy Wins (the third being Folklore) but they have completely different styles) - Evermore (2020) - Debut self titled “Taylor Swift” (2006)

Thank you so much for reacting to this, I love seeing people finally learn about Taylor and understand where she is coming from at this point in her life. Taylor's not at all perfect, but she tries, and thats more than you can say for a lot of people and espcially celebrities. I apologize in advance for the long winded comment but thank you so much for the genuine care you are showing for Taylor and her artistry. I'm sure these comments have already explained some of this stuff before, but I just wanted to give my two cents hahaha. ***(Just to clarify among all the other comments you get: Taylor dated actor Joe Alwyn for six years from 2017 until they just broke up recently. The break up was not announced until this year in April, but in retrospect the fans have began to think they have been broken up for a bit longer than before it was announced. Joe is the boyfriend she talks about in this documentary, and is the one she sings about in her love songs on Reputation and Lover, and he is the "Joe" she mentioned in the Long Ponds Studio session that helped write Exile and Betty. It's been sad, as we know Taylor was really happy with Joe for a while after all her failed relationships and trouble with the media, but we know it was for the best. The PR statement has more or less been that they "grew apart" and that it was "amicable" but break ups are still hard. Especially after songs like Peace on Folkmore where we know Taylor is scared of everyone leaving her because it's "hard" to be with her.)*** 1) Since you just watched this documentary, I'd be really really interested to see your reaction to her Lover album. It's the album she put out after Reputation. In general, it can be said that it is her most divisive album among the fanbase, as fans intial reaction to the album was not spectacular. But Lover is actually the album that made me a Swiftie and I love it, and sincce it was released many fans have grown to love it even more over the years. It may not be her most ground breaking album, but I still think its a special one from a special time in her life that tries to cover all forms of love (self love, romantic love, familial love, losing love, and much more). I may even be one of those patrons that sends you a break down of the album for you hahahah. 2) I think you have probably been getting a lot of comments about Speak Now because the release of Taylor's rerecording of the entire Speak Now album was just on Friday July 7th. This is the third album she has rerecorded and released in her entire process of reclaiming her music after her masters were sold. There were six "from the vault" tracks added this time that Taylor wrote at the time Speak Now was first written but did not make the first album release. ***(Fearless, Red, and Speak Now are the albums that have been rereleased so far, so when you react to them please be sure to stream Taylor's Version, they are labeled as such on streaming services. Thank you!) 3) If you don't do Lover for your next Taylor album reaction, then I suggest Evermore, Midnights, and/or Red (Taylor's Version) Thank you!!

Jenna

I was pretty much waiting for this reaction over the last couple of days and I really enjoyed it! I always feel like I have nothing to add after reading the comments here XD
