I really loved the wings album as well, but I think that the love yourself series is where Nam Joon really hit his stride in terms of lyrics. So much of this trilogy and the next era of BTS are from his lyrics and I just cannot say enough. One day if it’s possible I would just like to walk around in his brain because his ideas are just…. I actually don’t even have words. And the way that each member is able to add to those lyrics, either by words or by sound just brings it all together and shows why they are group. And as someone already mentioned, I like that they use the calico cat reference and he’s a male given that most calicos are female due to genetics

I love how they use a male calico cat as a metaphor for a rare occurrence :) (the gene for calico pattern is passed down on the female side so its very rare with male calico cats like 1/3000 of calico cats are male :) ) Its such a lovely song, and i love the mv.

I totally understand your feelings about WINGS , it's a masterpiece. But I think with BTS albums and their work in general there really isn't any point in ranking them as they're just so different. Sometimes, you will feel more drawn to one depending on your mood and situation in life, and at other times to others. Also, their versatility is just insane. In my playlists, I have their latest releases and their 2013 tracks and everything in between mixed up and it all is so different but goes together beautifully. And I often go back to listening to their complete albums the way they intended, including their early albums. I think most ARMYs do. There is no need to rank the members or their work - just enjoy with an open heart...

One thing I really appreciate is that I don’t generally like “love” songs but the wholesomeness and sweet soft nature doesn’t feel fake it works and it’s the opposite of vulgar. When I’m very down the whole vibe of this video and song can be like a warm glass of milk. It just calms me. Jimin is allergic to cats and loves them so I find that an interesting bit of this. Visually and sound wise it’s not revolutionary but it’s a mature use of the tools they have to artistically use what they have.

I’m pretty sure this song is the intro for the album that’s why it’s short like with j-hopes boy meets evil from the wings album! This song live at Wembley is next level deffo something I’m hoping the dream team putting in the streams 💜

As always with BTS, there is more to the video and lyrics than meets the eye! Everything goes below surface level. This is such a good comeback trailer that sets up the entire album (and even hints at the other albums of the trilogy). You may not enjoy the LY trilogy as much as Wings, but I definitely think you’ll find some new favorite songs. Wings was awesome in that it told an entire story in one album. But that’s what makes the LY series unique in contrast, because it tells a cohesive story over the 3 albums. Wings may have been the first art album, but they never really stopped with the art albums😂💜
