THE RISE OF BANGTAN Chapter 14: Deleted Scenes

Hwarang led me to BTS so it will always have a special place in my heart. I have loved KDramas for years and decided to watch Hwarang randomly. I did not listen to K-Pop at all, except a few songs from drama soundtracks for dramas I particularly loved. But I was charmed and impressed with Taehyung and looked into him further and that was it, I fell headfirst down the rabbit hole.

I think I we all agree that they are some of the most adorable humans around. Tae in particular has a childlike innocence about him that has made him the person who makes friends everywhere and people like the Hwarang cast end up adoring him. Those actors remained super close (enough so it’s a bit of a joke that BTS gets jealous of his friendship with them and they tease him about it) the Wooga squad (what they call themselves) is the A-list of Korea. But Tae I think gets his wonder of the world because he was mostly raised by his grandparents on their farm because his parents had to work a city away so he didn’t see them for street he’s growing up. He took the loss of his grandmother quite hard and wanted to explain why he looked down/less-lively as Army had noticed and been posting about it. I would absolutely want to wrap him up and protect him from the viscous online hate because he’s one of the most ridiculously adorable humans, Tae’s “Tata mic face” is a whole thing in the fandom (you’ll eventually get there it’s a signature face he makes that shouldn’t be nearly as cute as it is like it’s ridiculous for a guy of 25 to just regularly use it). I marvel how much of songs like the cyphers/Mic Drop (and songs that will come up later like Ugh) reflect their frustrations with all the abuse they get. Their extreme transparency and communication with their fans and the raw emotions they share are something I’ve never seen another artist do to that depth. Great fun to go through the extra content with you.

Totally agree that their level of wholesome adorableness is off the charts. Men and women crumble in the face of such unabashed cuteness. Hwarang holds a special place in my heart. I have been a longtime fan of Park Seo Joon (The lead actor in Hwarang - and now a very close friend of Tae's) and so when in 2016 came Hwarang...I then saw Tae and my world changed forever. There was just something so magnetic about his smile and look of childlike wonder that I wanted to know who he was. I then found out he was in BTS who I had heard of but hadn't looked into (at that stage I was into FT Island, Block B, Clover, etc) So Tae led me to BTS and thanks to that, Suga's lyrics saved my life (quite literally) That's why Tae will always be my Ultimate Bias and Suga my Bias wrecker. Regarding the show - I think It is fantastic. It remains to this day one of my favourite ever KDramas. Great acting, great story, great costumes and sets, full of comedy and drama. It was a fascinating story set in an interesting time in Korean history..... I highly recommend it. The energy between the guys was amazing too. You could tell they all worked so well together.

V would make some real good friends from that Kdrama. They call themselves the "Wooga" Squad. I did see the drama is was ok. V did a good job.

yeh V got alot of shit from hateful antis. I think it was after that Big Hit started their hard line against people spreading hate and lies about BTS.

Ah, Jin's graduation. It was such a bittersweet moment. It sucks that he wasn't able to go to the ceremony like everyone else but at the same time it was beautiful to see all the members celebrating with him. Still, I get that he was upset and I'm glad that he said it out loud. I saw a big chunk of Hwarang (the drama V was in) but not all of it because it wasn't my cup of tea. I like kdramas, but I can never get into the historical ones. He was great though, especially for his first role. Can't wait for ep. 15! :D

taehyung was imagining his father is beating him because in his storyline in the BU, his father is an abusive alcoholic, who he eventually stabs and kills!
