Proof of life (update)

A little personal update:

I took my first couple of days off from work this year to attend the annual Martial Arts retreat organized by my MA teacher. The schedule is a bit brutal, ngl (physical labour from 8am to 8pm and then training from 8pm to midnight? WHAT are we even training for?) but it felt like a dream. On the second day, we took a little break in the middle of training, turned off the outdoor light we used to see in the dark in the middle of the field we train in, and just sat on the grass to watch the stars. Achievement unlocked: new core memory! I saw a couple of shooting stars too and I guess they did bring me luck because at the end of the last day Teacher decided I was ready for my next belt exam and I passed it! This one is considered the first "real" belt in the school's belt system and within the school's colour coding system is associated with the sky. It feels like such a nice, little full-circle moment, I had to draw a little something to commemorate it. (Disclaimer: the sky may or may not have looked less spectacular than this.)
