patreon

Just a bitter PSA

I'm sorry to be  openly bitter about this, especially because I know it's not exactly the first priority to worry about these days, but I'm honestly fed up with people doing the ol' pledge-unpledge trick just to take a peak at the page and never have to pay for it. (I know there's people who unpledged because their financial situation changed, and I'm very sympathetic about that, it's not them I'm mad at right now.)

It's ok if you don't want to / can't support my work, but there's plenty of free content already online on my tumblr, instagram, twitter, etc... there's really no excuse to pull a stunt like that just to get some porn art for free. This page is still quite new, so there's not much on it yet (plus, the money I get from patreon so far doesn't even justify the amount of work hours I put into drawing content exclusively for this page, tbh, especially considering I get no social media visibility from here). I'm sorry if that's disspointing, but a patreon pledge is less about the acess to old content and more about investing in new one. Idk, I just see no excuse to immediately take back a pledge after just a couple minutes on this page.

Honestly, it's always a bummer to see that notification for that new patron and then logging in and seeing they retreated their pledge after 1 minute and gave some bullshit excuse in the exit survey. I see what you're doing, guys, you're not clever nor polite. It's happened plenty of times during the past months and I've always let it slide because I don't want to wag fingers at the wind or look like I feel entitled to other people's money for whatever reason (which I don't, btw, I'm so grateful for every single dollar you guys are giving me, you have no idea what this means to me).

I guess I'm very stressed and tired these days, so I really feel like speaking up about this now. I'm officially giving you a fair warning: the next time this happens, whoever pulls a stunt like this get a week's time to contact me and warn me if they did it by accident, after that time they're blocked.

I'm sorry to have to react like this but it's getting honestly quite unnerving and I don't need that kind of dissapointment happen to me right now, however minor.

Anyway, this is directed exclusively at whoever wanders on this page thinking to pull a slick move on a small free-lance creator, not my patrons. I love every single one of you and I always will, even after you leave. Any type of support, however small, is near and dear to my heart. Knowing someone out there values my art enough to invest in me and my work is the best feeling in the world, even if it's not enough to make a living out of it.

Anyways, rant over. Stay safe out there!

Ahah, a discerning gentlepeep, I see! Thank you! I'm assuming you mean the manga/anime "Berserk", and the answer to that is no, I know basically nothing about it. ^^''

I just signed up yesterday because I saw the Castlevania couple triangle and the comic of Trevor and Alucard trying to find an appropriate sleeping position. And I feel that you're right to think that pledging is an investment in future works. Just curious but are you familiar with Berserk?

Yeah, it has happened at least once a month since I launched patreon. I think a couple of those times it might have been a bot, but a few were definitely people. I knew this was something that can happen on patreon (I've seen other artists complain about this before), I just didn't expect to happen so often to someone pretty "unpopular" as I am.

People seriously do this?? Asshats.
