[this comment explicitly describes eye damage.] i know this is an older episode, but i can't help but comment on a relisten- there is literally zero mystery about the eyes being missing. the eye is made up mainly of liquid, namely saltwater; when the liquids in the structure of the eye are frozen, the cell walls are damaged and the structure is compromised. the saltwater may be able to drain at this time, since it remains liquid at lower temperatures, but certainly if at any time the temperature raises enough for the eyes to thaw, the structure is deformed or entirely collapsed. it's also common for eyes to go missing or be damaged very quickly after death at normal temperatures, simply because they're fragile. (and very easy to eat.) a lot of "mysteries" are created by inexperience or lack of willingness to consider the way bodies typically decompose.

I love theorizing about this, as part of me wants to think the government is always involved, but it makes sense that they might not have been withholding info for testing, but because of an employee with secret info was involved and they were just trying to maintain that - not as nefarious, but still involvement.

Though do to the autopsies not being released and the fact the eyes were the only thing removed does raise questions since it would explain some of the things that happened. I mean if an animal did take the eyes it would be easy to prove.

2024-06-10 15:00:39 +0000 UTCI live well inside the Artic Circle (Finland but still identical climate) and I can confirm that we have a TONNE of mosquitoes. It gets worse the more north you go up to a point. I do have to also clarify, Trevor, that you feeling warm/hot during skiing isnโt a milder experience of the early symptoms of hypothermia. Thats just your body getting warm from activity. The feeling of warmth from hypothermia is actually quite different and by the time youโre feeling it, itโs generally too late.
