You have my condolences on the AI debate possibly detracting from the real focus here, which is both "Woot Pencils is making lovely things!" and "How lovely the things you've made for us are" 😎 My favorite one is Redhead barbarian woman bandaging blonde dude's arm, with three lovely ladies as close second. Though I am also curious who is that griffon lady mooning over so hard eh? 🥰

I get that AI Art has a super negative connotation, but I there an an argument to have it help an artist take care of either the boring or repetitive stuff seems useful. Obviously we get into a strange area when it comes to full AI art trained on works without the artists permission, but cool to hear on the tech from an artists POV

2023-11-05 15:26:54 +0000 UTCI used adobe generative fill beta to add stuff to the backround after I realized I needed to zoom it out for better layout. I did paint the floor, table and good chunk of the background shelves, as likely evident from the generous use of gaussian blur to obscure the quick and sketchy brushwork. The table surfaces heights and all are pony-height and some of the background is kitbashed from photos. (monitors for one). I was mostly curious what the generative fill can do so I let it generate new stuff based on my own efforts on the canvas. Some of it was so fucky I just had to just handpaint it anyway. The most curious aspect of the generative fill was how it took my one ceiling light and just cloned it all over. I decided to roll with it even if it made no sense. Essentially, all the stuff in the center and more on the left side of the canvas was my work, then the weirdness on the right and a sliver on the top was a.i. helping me to not have to repaint a huge chunk of background. Which I appreciated after having already labored on it for a day straight.
