Ill Doctrine Radio 12/3/22: Don't Call It A Comeback

Okay y'all!

It's a been a long time, I shouldn't have left you.

I've been planning to make a video checking in and talking about my time away but, as these things go, that in itself has turned into another reason to put off starting again. So I'm just gonna get to it.

Long story short as some of you will know I joined the team of a longform podcast project earlier this year*, and it's been a really exciting experience but also super challenging on a bunch of levels, with the nature of the work, the circumstance of coming to it out of pandemic isolation, etcetera.

Meanwhile right around the time I signed on for the project, I was also just starting to really seek a better understanding of various "etceteras" I've always struggled with, around consistently getting work done, showing up for life, and such. Which is to say: I had just started exploring the possibility I might have Adult ADHD. :)

This job turned out to be both the perfect storm of challenges and triggers for most of those issues, and a perfect opportunity to sort of stand outside of myself and observe them. And I'm pretty excited to say: I have successfully survived a year of pushing through on the work, and it's now almost done. AND, I'll be coming out of it with a freshly minted ADHD diagnosis and accompanying treatment.

So, while I know myself better than to make any specific promises, I'm feeling good and hopeful about being more productive and present in the coming year. Thank you all for your patience and support, it's never ever taken for granted. <3

And getting to the business at hand: in this week's episode we had a great conversation with our fam Jesi Kelley about life, art, and (yes) Kanye, and got another brand new mix from DJ Tee Money, succinctly titled "Women." Hope you enjoy, and see y'all soon!

*I think I can say at this point it's an audio documentary series for Prologue Projects, that will debut next year on Audible, probably in the Spring.
