Weekly Update Post (05/01/2026)

Happy New Year everyone! For the year's first weekly update post I've got a couple things to let you all know about and some plans for future patches.

Latest Patch

As you might have seen, the Early Access release of patch 0.1.7 came out a few days ago and I hope you're all enjoying the new content so far. I decided this time to have a slightly longer early access time so that I can both collect enough feedback & bug reports, as well as spend a bit more time working on the patreon scene to be released with the public release. This will probably be the plan going forwards for future patches as well since it makes the most sense.

Patch 0.1.7 brought with it a lot of content, at least in the way of gameplay/quests. Whilst it was a bit lighter than previous patches in terms of H-scenes, I wanted to make sure that the requests system for the Adventurer's Guild felt fully fleshed out. One thing I've learned from this update, is that if I'm to make a multiple ending quests again like the last adventurer's guild quest, I should ensure it's a quest that doesn't involve too many moving parts. Whilst making the Bannerbound game was fun, having to think about where each person would be standing and move according to each play took quite a long time. Having to run through the entire event to check all the possible endings and make minor adjustments to character positions legitimately took hours. Still I'm happy with the quality of all the quests I've put out this patch and they should hopefully all be running smoothly.

Patreon Scene

I just finished animating and writing the Patreon scene and have to say I'm very pleased with both the model and quality of animation. As you can see from the screenshot at the top of the post, the scene features an onahole being controlled by Nyssa's telekinetic powers. I figured it would be a good chance to try a different kind of scene given that the nature of Tatsumaki's powers lent itself to doing so. This scene will be accessible from the closet in the Patreon Lounge and as stated earlier, should be arriving this Friday with the public release of 0.1.7.

Next Patch

Since I haven't heard of any bugs yet, I'm going to get started on content for next patch, some of which I've already been working on for a bit already. Qingyan's companion quest is almost finished and all that's left to do is animate and write her H-scene. Additionally, I've almost finished a new quest that the player can complete to unlock the new Pirate Class. I plan to release the Pirate class with it's level 10 class quest as well, so that it doesn't lag behind the original classes. As for the Pirate Princess's name, I've gone for Mara. I wanted to go with something that ties to her being a pirate or just maritime in general and Mara kind of fits. Also it's a pretty name so there's that. The other thing planned to have released for next patch is a scene rework for Bat's opening scene, which was voted on ages ago. I can only really apologise for that, but with the Halloween and Christmas patches needing to be out by certain deadlines, I didn't have the time. I'm deciding whether or not I rework both of her scenes as they're of similar quality, but I won't really know until I start making one.

Future Plans

Looking even further ahead to the future, I was thinking that since the game is approaching 0.2.0, I would like for that patch to be a somewhat meaningful update and decided that it would be a great time to add a new main story quest. On top of this, I've been thinking about having a popularity poll, linked in the game, which could then have an in game event based on the results. Additionally, since I want to ensure 0.2.0 is a significant update, 0.1.9 will probably be on the smaller side to accommodate this. I'll probably take the time to maybe give new content to some of the side characters and their quest lines, such as Primrose and the fairies. Either way, I don't want to look to far into the future, since I've still got work to do on next patch, as well as any bugfixes for 0.1.7.

Personal

I don't usually make new years resolutions and probably won't again this year. If I had to, it would be to try and bring Z2HH to a place where I can focus on it full time. As for football, the 2nd half of the Arsenal vs Villa game was some of the best football we've played this season and gives me hope going into a busy month of fixtures. As for NFL the postseason should be starting soon and it will probably be fun to watch a few of those games. I'm not sure who I've got for winning the Superbowl, but I'd like to see Josh Allen and Bills do it. Hopefully they can take advantage of Mahomes and the chiefs not being in the playoffs this year, but they haven't looked amazing themselves. As for an album shoutout, I've probably said this one already, but I spent most of the week listening to Cameron Winter's Heavy Metal. I've been returning to it basically every other day since I first heard it last April. If you;re into Bob Dylan or any other singer songwriter stuff and for some reason haven't heard of Cameron Winter yet, I highly recommend giving it a listen. Best track to start with is Love Takes Miles since it's both the most accessible song on the album as well as an absolute banger.

Final Notes

I hope you all enjoy the latest patch and are looking forward to the Tatsumaki - Nyssa scene coming this friday. There's plenty of content to come and I have tonnes of plans for the game going forward.
