New Content
The Seasonal quest, Once Upon a Winter Cabin, sees the player step into a Christmas tale narrated by everyone's favourite clown, Harlu. Spend time helping the four class leaders of Crownreach prepare for the festivities and maybe have some sexy seasonal fun along the way.
The new abandoned graveyard and it's respawnable zombie enemies, give you a way to farm rotten flesh for monster crafting recipes.
The increase in game resolution from 1104x624 to 1600 x 900, increases both game and video quality.
During Once Upon a Winter Cabin, players can discover a hidden achievement as part of a trial implementation of an upcoming achievement system. Whilst at the moment unlocking this achievement has no direct gameplay effect, future updates of the game will see a brand new achievement system in which players can gain various items, benefits and perhaps even content, by collecting these achievements.
Changes/Fixes
After completing the companion quest Where I Was Left the door at the back of the closet in Oakwood Manor, now leads directly to Elizabeth's room, bypassing the corridor which was causing errors for some players.
Fixed a minor bug where a heart indicator would still appear above Celestia's bathing chambers if the player chose not to spy on her in the bath.
Fixed an issue where the player could softlock their game by revisiting the bandit camp midway through Path of the Archer.
Fixed an issue where upon revisiting the altar in the Church catacombs after finishing Light Beneath the Altar, the scene would replay and softlock player's games.
Fixed small visual bug where interacting with the dead bandit outside of the cave during More Bandits, would change the body.
Added a small bubble above Harlu's tent in the mountains to help players find her sooner. (With her significance in both the game and it's branding, it didn't make sense for players to potentially encounter her so late)
Fixed a couple of typos/grammar errors & adjusted some lines of dialogue.
Potential Issues
With the resolution increase, there's likely to be instances where npcs and objects that were previously off-screen, are now appearing at the edges of certain maps. It's probably going to take a patch or two for me to catch all of these and fix them, so if you notice any visual inconsistencies like this, please let me know.
With the increase in resolution, I had to remove all scaling factors from previous scenes. There's a chance some of these have been missed and so some scenes may appear smaller than intended, with a black border.
Save Compatibility
As far as I know, this update should be fine to load on existing saves. There are a couple new tables against the wall in the player's bedroom, so if you were standing in one of those locations you might find yourself stuck.
Public Release
This patch will be getting a public release on itch.io either tomorrow or the day after (depending where/when you're reading this). Whilst I'd prefer for the early access period to be slightly longer, so that critical issues can be identified and addressed, I want to make sure this patch is out in good time as Christmas approaches.
