Right now I'm about a quarter of the way through Rabelais And His World by Mikhail Bakhtin - thank you so much for recommending it. It actually helped me with a small work of fanfiction I'm writing. As someone who's a big fan of folk horror, folklore in general, and especially folk humor, this book is indispensable. I got a lot more from it already than any other source I've found on the internet. Thank you so, so much for that.
