It's been a long time since I listened to this all the way through. Thanks so much for this great reaction. My Mum always loved P.S. I Love You.

I believe this came out in 1963 in Britain. Coming in to this era, the Beatles were pretty much an incredible covers band. There first 2 or 3 albums all contained incredible performances of cover songs. This whole album was recorded in 14 hours I believe. Like The Doors 1st album, this Beatles album was pretty much their live set. But boy, when they began doing only original material, we began to catch on that this was not simply a great pop group, but a force created by nature. Something really special. What were the odds of these 4 individuals coming together at that time. At that place. Odds were astronomic. All being born and raised in Liverpool. Somehow meeting each other. Each being so talented on his own. Great musicians, singers performers, composers etc. Their harmonies are incredible. They changed the world in all kinds of ways. We were blessed to have had them. The world would definitely be different had their chemistry not occurred. On top of that, they just happened to run into Brian Epstein, a local record store owner. One day a lad came in to his shop looking for a certain record. Brian prided himself on having every selection anyone could desire. But he didn't have it, and had never heard of this group. When he learned that they were playing some very exciting dates locally at The Cavern Club, having just returned from a couple of residences in German clubs, he thought he'd pop in and have a look. They immediately fell in love with him, and he with them. Then add that George Martin and the EMI Studios were exactly what they needed. They'd have never sounded like they did without him. They never put "album filler" songs on their records. Please Please Me was their current single at the time I believe. And Love Me Do had already been a hit in England. The whole convergence was A Perfect Storm. You guys still have 2 years of their albums to get through before Rubber Soul. All dope.
