In the story, an airplane crashes into the Himalayas and the survivors are rescued by a small group of people who take them to Shangri-La, where everyting seems to be ideal. In the end, some of the group leave, but one member tries desperately to return to Shangri-La. It was made into a great movie in 1937, and a shitty musical in 1973.
