You mention that there must be dissertations written about this movie. Well, in a word ... Yes. This is masterful performance. As a college prof myself, teaching theatre (acting and directing, specifically), it is required viewing. And yes, while I am stressing performance theory and directing (stage composition - not musical composition) the lessons learned in it first and foremost are about the commitment to being an Artist. Students at first are baffled by the assignment (especially kids today who have never even heard of the Talking Heads) but almost every single one of them comes back to class "mind blown." It is simply brilliant.

I went into the cinema a particular kind of musician, knowing little of the Talking Heads, and I left completely changed in terms of how I thought about creativity and music. I've seen this dozens of times over the years. It never gets old and there's always something new to see. Thanks, guys.
