Apple TOS Change
Added 2024-08-12 22:45:04 +0000 UTCHey guys, I just received an email from Patreon notifying me that 'Apple is requiring that Patreon use their in-app purchasing system and remove all other billing systems from the Patreon iOS app by November 2024. This means that once we get to November, new memberships purchased in the iOS app will be subject to Apple's 30% App Store fee.'
So any new subscribers who subscribe via an Apple device will be charged a 30% increase on top of the price of the selected tier.
Because of this, I am suggesting that to prevent taking more out of your pocket, please subscribe via an android device, or from a PC/laptop, if at all possible.
This only affects those who are subscribing from an Apple device. So if you're not subscribing through an Apple Device then this won't affect you at all.
I personally have no control over this whatsoever, and many other creators besides me probably got this email today too.
