15k sub celebration video and Patron stream

Hey guys! πŸ‘‹

EDIT: Going to have to cancel the stream today. Huge storm coming thru my area this afternoon, wiping out power. Sorry guys. I'll update later. (I'm safe though, no worries).

Just wanted to update you with some channel stuff.

First off, we got over 15k subs!! Woooo πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³

Fucking crazy. Still blows my mind.

To celebrate, I'm going to be making a Q&A video, so please give me some questions to answer (otherwise the vid will be really short! Lol). They can be about anything, as long as they're mostly appropriate. 😏

ALSO, I will be hosting a Patron-only stream on the second channel this coming Friday @ 6:00 pm CST (11:00 PM UTC). It's going to be a loose format. Probably just playing a game and chatting with you guys, but I'm down for whatever. Just come hang out.

Great question. I'll definitely get into this one

Hmm, since the questions may be about anything... I've been trying to figure out why light slows down in a medium. The prevalent theory is that the interaction of the electromagnetic waves that make up photons interact with the electromagnetic fields around the electrons of the atoms in the medium, causing the frequencies of the superimpose, and slowing down the photon. But this confuses me because my understanding is that the frequency defines the _energy_ of a photon. So changing the frequency should just change the color? Many people online also seem to think the amplitude of the wave changes, but my understanding is that there is no such thing as an amplitude in a photon's wave. So how come that this specific interaction between a photon and the electromagnetic fields in an electron causes the photon to slow down? Is it some relativistic effect? The energy has to stay constant so time has to slow down? (c = √(E/m)) Or is it a quantum effect? The energy is just too little for the photon or the electrons to change to a different energy state, so instead the energy has to be deposited by a slowing of the photon?

16k! That's insane, yet also completely deserved considering the quality of your videos. Seems like yesterday you were just a little Meromorphic. Damn, they grow up so fast. Anyways, on towards 50k!
