2025-11-11 00:00:20 +0000 UTCYou have to understand American cultural training for the working class: In the USA humans are categorized by the wealth/property/income they have in a philosophical construction called "Worth" - a billionaire is WORTH a billion, a person who lacks economic competence is WORTHLESS; all people seek to escape a worthless life of economic constraint therefore humiliating employment such as prison guard, ICE street attacker, marines trained to kill and have no conscience about, policemen who terrorize and kill with impunity - these are not looked on as shameful but as money! MONEY is the objective, the sole arbiter of human worth according to American culture. A country whose people are so narrow in their moral outlook can be defeated! You should have seen the reaction I got at the school bus company I worked at when I expressed the hope that Russia would kick the crap out of Ukraine and show the world that NATO and the USA are paper tigers! I have never been popular!

I am personally a left-wing extremist who has done the following to undermine the support workers have for the military: When ever I learn of a person who is thinking of joining the US military or who I detect praising their time in the military I direct their attention to the fact that a soldier is a SLAVE in all but name! That makes them mad but that's ok as a SOCIALIST who still believes the 180 year old Marxist ideas (still around after all this time because he is right, true and correct) I know they are deluded workers who are suffering from the fact that there is no freedom in USA except for the rich - that the joiners are doing so for the mercenary benefits only military subordination bestows on the worker who joins; that when the new recruit who has this flea of mine in their ear will think of this when, as a soldier, they are being treated like a dog - my mission to demoralize the imperialist has in some tiny sense (since I am myself tiny as a citizen) has been accomplished. I thank you for your essays - I find them refreshing and cogent and true!
