Fairest - Scene 4
Added 2019-04-29 02:14:17 +0000 UTCSoon enough, night fell on the forest. The massive trees blocked out the moonlight, turning the world around the witch’s hut nearly pitch black. It seemed that the princess had finally begun to wear herself out. The hut already looked brand new: books were actually on the shelves, the floor was visible, and dust seemed to have entirely vanished from the house. The witch was at a total loss. At this point, she just needed to rest.
Samara: All right, I think you’ve done enough.
The princess smiled, proud of her own work.
Sophie: I’m amazed you were even able to stand it the way it was! I’m guessing you don’t have guests over very often.
Samara: Why should I need to clean my lair when I can force my victims to do it for me? You’ve done exactly as I planned!
The witch wasn’t fooling anyone.
Sophie: Oh please, like you would have made me do this. You’re lucky I’m nice enough to offer to help.
Samara: Say what you want, but I know the truth! You’ve seen the power of my magic and you know I’m not afraid to use it. You may pretend you’re making your own choices, but I know they’re all made out of fear of what I might do!
The Princess laughed, clearly unafraid.
Sophie: Alright, whatever you say.
She stretched and yawned, clearly exhausted after a long day of cleaning and being kidnapped.
Sophie: Okay, so if you kidnapped me, you obviously have a place for me to sleep, right? Because today has involved a lot more activity than I expected and I could seriously go for some sleep.
Samara: Of course! I have long prepared for this day. Everything is ready.
Sophie: Great! For an evil witch, you’re pretty cool.
“So where am I staying?”
Samara: “You are a prisoner, and you will be kept in conditions fit for one!”
She gestured towards a stone slab in the corner of the room. Apart from a crude stitched blanket and straw-filled pillow, it was bare.
Sophie: …….
“You’re joking, right?”
Samara: “You are a prisoner….”
Ignoring her once again, the princess pointed to the large, fluffy bed in a room partially obscured by curtains.
Sophie: “What about that one?”
The Witch was dumbfounded.
Samara: “That… That’s my bed…”
The Princess gaped as she examined it.
Sophie: “It’s pretty big for one person, don’t you think?”
“Are you one of those people that moves around a lot in her sleep?”
Samara: “I don’t know what I do when I sleep! I’m asleep!”
The Princess gave a wry smile.
Sophie: “Well, I’m sleeping here, so I guess you’ll find out.”
Without warning, she hopped into the bed and rolled over to one side, pulling blankets up to her chin and sighing contentedly.
Samara: “..............” (maybe insert a totally shocked/flustered face here?)
“B-but...that’s my bed…”
The witch was too shocked to even attempt to keep up her intimidating facade.
Sophie: “And? Look at it! This thing is way too big for one person. We can both fit in here.”
Samara: “Yes, but….that’s my bed…”
The princess rolled her eyes, waiting for the witch to just give in. As far as she was concerned, it was only fair that she be allowed to sleep here after being taken from her home.
Sophie: “I don’t snore or anything, if that’s what you’re asking.”
That was not what she was asking.
Samara: “I...but….I mean….”
The witch contemplated using magic to move her but realized there was no point. The princess’s will was too strong. She would just get right back up and hop back in the bed. At this point, the witch was exhausted, too.
Samara: “...Fine.”
She reluctantly climbed into bed, trying to stay as far away as possible without falling off the bed.
“But this is just for tonight!”
Sophie: “Mmmhm.”
Samara: “.....And don’t hog the blankets!!”
Sophie (smiling): “You got it, dread witch whatever.”
Samara: “Samara! It’s Samara!”
Sophie: “Right. Well, good night Samara.”
Samara: “...........”
“Good night.”
