The Waters Above: Prelude Launch!
Added 2018-06-27 22:19:37 +0000 UTC
It's finally out! It's been an exciting month leading up to this but it's finally here and ready to be played! Right now the game is only up on itchi.io but we are expecting the Steam build to be approved soon and then it will be up on there as well! Hopefully as soon as this evening!
So what can you expect from TWA:P? Well it is a short game, approximately 30 to 45 minutes long. It consists of four short stories which all occur either before, or during the main game, but none of which appear in it. Each of those scenes is from one of the main characters' point of view.
Our goal was to make something that allowed us to show each of the characters to the fullest in the least amount of time while spoiling as little as possible about the main game. I won't lie and say that the fact that I thought it would be a lot of fun didn't factor in either, it was a major factor! I hope it's as fun for you to read as it was to write.
I'd like to thank everyone on the TWA team for helping make this happen. Everyone was so passionate about the project it was impossible for me to not equal their passion. It was incredibly inspiring and they're all such amazing people.
I'd also like to thank each and everyone who's not only donated to this Patreon, but who has supported us in any way. You're the reason we keep on doing this. And those of you who have pledged here are enabling us to strive for the highest quality games we possibly can. Your support means everything to us.
In the coming weeks please look forward to more TWA:P content exclusive to the Patreon. Post-mortems, concept art, and technical discussions will all be forthcoming, but for right now, please enjoy the game.
Thank you all,
Ally Kaye
PS There's some bonus content for those of you who have played the Heart of the Woods demo that we hope will be a lot of fun to read!!

Feels more intense than HotW. HotW feels more "(wo)man against nature" or "(wo)man against self". TWA feels more "(wo)man against (wo)man" but I sense it ends up more "(wo)man against self. There's a lot more to Iris that even she realizes at the moment...or that's my sense. Looking forward to more! :-)
