Progress Update R17: Final additions, more colors, spheres, vegetation

Hey!
This is the last work-in-progress update of Release R17 - it's finished now.
R17 is a really heavy pack and is meant to be used as a standalone.
Here are the updates:
- I continued working on the crossbow, but things are a lot more complicated than expected (the animation part) I will most likely not include the crossbow in R17, also because it does no longer suit the theme - R17 is all about abstract architecture. It also eats a lot of performance, unnecessarily. However, I will include it in the next release (R18) - I have a few great plans for the next one.
- added more sphere materials. The last few updates were really gray and a bit boring. R17 needs a few more colors! I managed to get custom boat models working properly which means I can add a few more sphere models. The same materials are also applied randomly to cows. (you can spawn a cow with noAI to stop it from moving)

- added a few cold and warm lightsources (magma block, sea lantern, redstone/lapis block) You can mix/blend them to get almost any color temperature for your builds.
- added some vegetation: This release is not very colorful so far - mostly white concrete stuff. I added the old jungle_leaves + I also created a new type of palm leaves to add more variation (used for acacia_leaves)

- added the smooth quartz block, slabs, stairs (polished white block) from R16
- added reworked/adjusted versions of the gray and black concrete blocks. (also finally in 2048x)

- optimized performance a bit: Some 2048x textures are way too detailed (for example the 2d/3d arches). In order to save a few FPS, I used 1024x textures instead. Also, some textures are the same resolution in all packs (spheres, cylinders, etc) They only work at a specific resolution - so I can't scale them down.
In general - sadly, the difference in FPS between the different versions is quite small.
(Highly depends on which blocks you use. Models like cylinders/spheres perform the exact same on all resolutions.)
I also cleaned up the website. Images should load faster and the guide is now much more readable and compact. Also, the map downloads are now on the Releases page. (I updated the old R14 map to fit the new reworked R1-14 pack)
Will you do a video on R17? Probably yes, but it's complicated. As I mentioned previously, I want to avoid attracting normal minecraft players who are usually very young and don't understand what we create.
Next up: I really want to build a large map for R17 that shows all the blocks and features (so you can see how to build it). I will also include builds from the community. In case you have good scenes, post them on the discord server, I might add them somewhere on the map.
Thank you, hope you like it!

2021-09-05 02:41:13 +0000 UTCI use a 3080 ti and it runs smooth.
2021-08-01 15:40:27 +0000 UTCI get around 70 - 90 fps on 3070 with 1024x, so I think 3070 would be perfect

2020-11-15 03:18:08 +0000 UTCThere's absolutely no way he would know when, a different company altogether, is going to fix bugs, or release a stable build. Remember, this is NOT for game play. As OP stated in many places, these no home oc on the planet that can run this pack at playable FPS. I've got a heavily refined 2070, and with every resource available on my pc either helping minecraft, or turned off completely, have extreme difficulty hitting 30FPS sporadically. For the most part, it's always sub 20. .. but God DAYYYMMMM!!!😀😀😀 The most detailed, attractive, realistic, cinematically perfect environments, right?!??

2020-10-31 18:57:34 +0000 UTCany plans for 1.12.2 support because it runs better on lower end systems and is widely popular?

2020-10-30 21:39:25 +0000 UTCwell a lot of us play with the Renewal version of Sonic Ether's Shaders for performance/stability reasons and that works great in 1.16 so I don't know if there is "no reason". Any eta when the optifine issue would be resolved?

2020-10-30 19:12:16 +0000 UTCentity models like the 3D Arches are broken in 1.16. but that's an optifine issue. PTGI is also very glitched in newer versions so there no reason for me to update.
