Reworked R1-14 Pack
Added 2020-08-17 22:37:49 +0000 UTCHey!
The content from Releases 1 to 14 is quite outdated by now.
Some of the Textures/Models even date back to PTGI E5 or 6.
What I have for you today: A completely reworked/adjusted version of the old "R14" Pack.
What did I change in the new "R1-14" Pack? (First of all: A less confusing name)
- Re-adjusted and restructured all Textures/Files.
Adjusted all the specular and metallic values for PTGI E11. (All content is now on E11) - Fixed many bugs (most of the reflection bugs, etc.)
This means the "Hotfix 4" pack is no longer needed! - Optimized all the models and texture resolutions (for a more consistent pixel-density)
- Added lapis, redstone and magma blocks (recolored versions of the emerald block)
- Added a few basic blocks like white-concrete stairs + a highly reflective clean white block (smooth quartz block, stairs + slabs)
- replaced the old ugly grass and dirt with the new ctm versions from the upcoming survival-compatible Pack.
- Removed old/ugly experimental textures
- Improved compatibility with the other R-Series Packs.
(there should be almost no conflicting content left)
You can search all the textured blocks in-game.
Performance should be a bit better now, especially in extreme cases (for example if you use a lot of the custom models)
I'll also soon release a public version of R1-14. For this I'll rework the map and make a new specific guide.
If you are confused, here is an overview of all my content:
Rendering-Series Packs: R17wip R16 R15 R1-14 + the survival-compatible Pack (in development)
How's progress on the "survival-compatible" pack"?
The first step, which is now completed: Reworking all the old Content from R1-14 because the "survival-compatible" Pack will be based on R1-14. The last 3 weeks I also travelled a lot and took a ton of photos. As always: All my Textures are photographed by myself and completely created from scratch.
I'll try my best to release a few new textures before the end of the month. (probably wood, logs/planks etc. Flowers, .... stuff for survival.
What about the new PTGI HRR version?
The performance increase is really impressive, it's a good shader if you need an fps boost (for example when building).
But my content is all about visual quality so obviously I will not use it.
I'm still on PTGI E11 (and sometimes E10) because I personally do not like E12+ at all.
If you want the same results as I get, you need to use E11.
What about 1.16. or 1.15.?
Almost all the textures/models should work fine but as far as I know there are no properly working optifine or ptgi versions yet. Don't worry, Of course I will only move to a newer version if I can guarantee the same visual quality.

2020-08-27 08:47:09 +0000 UTCWith this release, I am mildly satisfied, but I wanted to say that I preferred the old grass and dirt textures. I also realized the chiseled quartz block was missing, which was aggravating since I've been building with that block.

2020-08-19 07:25:22 +0000 UTCI got, to be honest, I'm not fully satisfied that when I swapped out my R14 and under textures, for R1-R14 many of the blocks are just the basic Minecraft ones.
2020-08-18 11:51:14 +0000 UTCHere: https://bit.ly/3kU8R4X With the R1-14 pack a few textures have been removed or are used on a different block. I'll update the map soon and put all the stuff in the guide.

2020-08-17 23:13:46 +0000 UTCPTGI has a weird yellowish/greenish tint and with each version it seems to get worse. It might look good for normal gameplay but I prefer a more cooler/neutral look. In E11 I get a pretty good whitebalance when disabling all clouds. E10 is awesome for morning/evening architecture shots. Example: https://bit.ly/3iOrg17 Especially around /time 13000 and 23000

2020-08-17 23:09:19 +0000 UTCJust out of curiosity, why do you prefer ptgi 11/10 over 12?
