Hey!
This is the second work-in-progress update of R17.
What have you done to Minecraft? Well, as you can see I added more Circles, Holes, Curves, Bevels, Arches,.... Soon there will be no straight lines or corners left.
First of all: These shapes only look good if you don't look closely - It's Minecraft after all... This is all very experimental but I try my best to create new, unique stuff for you.
Here are a few more screenshots, probably the best way to explain the new stuff:
Weird stuff, yea - Not everyone is going to like it but you can build A LOT of different things with it. The things in these screenshots are just what I built while testing.
Okay, what's contained in the R17wip2 Pack?
- The crossbow and spiral-stairs models from my last post.
- Round Holes/Arches:
Blocks used: Dead Coral Fans - Just search for "coral" in the creative inventory!
Placement: Place them on walls! There are different types/sizes/shapes:
Corner Pieces for a 2-blocks-wide arch, small 1-block-wide arch, Vertical Holes (ctm), Horizontal Holes for Ceilings (ctm) and also a 2x2 large hole for the spiral staircase! - Round Windows:
Block used: Oak Trapdoor Placement: 1 block in front of the window.
For Arches: Place on floor, then open it. For Holes: Place on bottom side of a block.
For Ceiling Windows: Just place on floor, without opening. - Bevels/Slopes: 45° angle. There are a few lighting glitches, be careful.
Block used: Iron Trapdoor Placement: Very similar to stairs. - Cone Lamps: nether_brick_wall = Cable, hanging_lantern = Lamp
Place the Lantern underneath the nether_brick_wall (hanging!) - Round Wall Covers/Grates: Place diorite_wall on floor and follow the instructions.
Circle-diameter: 6-Blocks Concave and Convex placement types available.
Windows and a Top piece (for white_concrete) as described in the instructions. - Vertical Round Wall Covers: Place spruce_button on wall and follow instructions.
Circle-diameter: 6-Blocks Can be placed on both axis for vertical circles.
If you don't know how to place blocks, download the MAP and check how I built it!

"Why don't you create a mod for your models?"
I understand that the placement of the new blocks is quite difficult and you will need some time to figure it out. I try my best to create easy-to-understand "in-game instructions" (e.g: spiral stairs). But I don't think a mod would make placement that much easier.
Not worth it at the moment. Maybe later.
A few reasons:
- I am not developing any ongoing/continuous project. I want to avoid that people just try to download "everything". This will just lag their game. You can create beautiful scenes with as little as 5 blocks/textures or so. Having more blocks will not make your game look better if you don't know how to use it properly.
- I love the idea of being able to install all my content with Resource-Packs only. Installing Forge + Mod is another step that most people don't want to do. Same applies to multiplayer. You can just set up a vanilla "non-mod" server and build with others or just join any other regular server. No forge server stuff required.
- I would need to wait for forge-updates before I can update my stuff. I'm already dependent on Minecraft, Optifine and PTGI -versions. This would only waste my time.
In general I'm quite happy with how I currently release my content. Of, course most people want me to do something else (e.g.: a survival texture pack) but I'd like to focus more on those, who understand what I do and use my content for it's intended purpose.

What's next?
maybe a chair? and of course I need to continue the crossbow model. Stay tuned.
Thanks, a lot for your support! I'd love to see what you come up with, using the new stuff. It has a lot of potential. Feel free to share screenshots on the discord server.

2020-07-02 04:38:58 +0000 UTCThe texture pack doesn't take effect. I'm using 1.14.4 Optifine E5 and Seus E11 but nothing works.

2020-06-17 20:40:45 +0000 UTCvery cool extremely creative if it weren't for the limitations of minecraft this would look so much better. unfortunately the only pack I wont be using for my multiplayer survival as interferes with some blocks your have already made like iron bars and the arches are 2d because you used plants which is clever and the best route I think you could have taken but personally they look a touch out of place Imo. keep up the good work love the textures. maybe making a mod for your custom textured blocks might be very convenient for you.
