Why I took down all videos - Plans for the future.

In this post I'll talk about a few things that I'm currently unhappy with - and I'm not really sure how to solve them. I want to be transparent and I believe that - if I explained it properly - you will understand.
So, here's the back-story again:
Before I started creating stuff in Minecraft, I've used 3D software to create realistic renderings.
In 2018 I saw Sonic Ether's posts about his new path-traced Minecraft shader "PTGI" and I instantly fell in love. I'm generally obsessed with light-behavior, global illumination, reflections, caustics, etc... so for me this was insanely exciting that this is now possible in Minecraft.
Back then, the shader was not received very well by the community - most players did not really understand why PTGI was a huge deal. So I decided to make YouTube videos about the shader, to show that Minecraft can actually have good graphics.
Some of my video's went viral - many millions views, more YouTubers started to join and suddenly there was a hype. I'd say, my videos played a major role in starting the whole "Minecraft-Raytracing" hype (2019).
The downside:
All this sounds like a lot of fun - and it certainly was - but I never expected it to blow up like it did - and I would have done things differently if I knew that would happen.
I got thousands of comments, messages, emails, etc - This scared and stressed me a lot.
So many people reached out to me or joined my Patreon page - they thought I would make a "texture-pack" for playing normal Minecraft. They expected it to work on every version - they expected it to be compatible with all their favorite mods or shaders - They expected me to create a full minecraft "texture pack" with all blocks, items and animals textured in the same quality etc. .... which I just can't do and don't want to do.
So decided to take down all my videos - this wasn't easy because I put a lot of time and love into creating these textures and the videos themselves.
Why did you take down the videos?
Because I think they are misleading. It's my fault. When people see my videos/screenshots, they assume that this is some sort of "texture pack" that they can download, buy or otherwise "get" - and with which they can make their own Minecraft survival-world look "realistic".
I realized my content should only be used by people who are genuinely interested in rendering, CGI and computer graphics in general - not normal minecraft players.
What are you going to do now?
I'm not really sure. For those who are still left here on Patreon I currently create a few "survival-friendly" textures - to give people what they actually wanted me to do.
But this is only a temporary solution and It only works if these textures do not get more popular. I don't want to attract more people.
