I would be very interested in hybrid inverters, charge controllers, etc teardowns. There are plenty of people tearing down battery packs etc but almost none do an in-depth review of the hybrid inverters, also the manufacturers usually can't answer any technical questions about them. I am like you not interested in selling my energy but would like to keep it for myself and power my stuff during the most expensive hours. But the manufacturers cant give me stuff like serial protocol, can I control in detail if I power from the grid, battery solar, etc. I bet you could get some solar hybrid inverters for free if you mail around a bit since you got a youtube channel. :)
