Ultralow Noise Amplifier

Not sure what happened here đŸ€ this project started as 'ts80p.prproj' but the soldering iron didn't offer a whole lot of talking material. So instead I started rambling about noise ... for 25 minutes ...

Ultralow Noise Amplifier

Comments

Seen it! A very sophisticated solution whereas I am just relying on good opa performance :)

Marco Reps

Many tips in TI 0.1-10 Hz noise filter: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slau522/slau522.pdf This could be useful for a lot of people!

Anders Petersson

A colleague of mine built a low noise amp which goes down to 1/10Hz and he didn't use any fancy tantalum caps so maybe you can do the same 😉

Nikolaus Juch

You could use a two stage design for your amplifier, you can dimension the first stage that even with the worst leakage current of you cap you don't hit the supply rails and then use a second dc block with a higher gain amplifier afterwards that way you won't have that much leakage anyways because you've got a lower dc bias đŸ€”

Yeah, EAGLE was okay years ago. Now it feels like 10 new shiny UI layers on top of fundamental code from 1988

Marco Reps

Lots of KiCad showing up! Didn't you use EAGLE before? What brought you over? :)

It got even more ambitious than I originally wanted it to be 😅 It's a team effort now, happening mostly on the discord server. It'll take a lot longer, but it will be worth it. This power output stage is one of multiple candidates we are considering https://github.com/marcoreps/lt1166_bob

What happened to OSMU? You took it off your GitHub. I was following that project so hard

Sorry. I had to... https://thumbs.gfycat.com/PerkyLazyAlpineroadguidetigerbeetle-size_restricted.gif

Until today I always thought that "Unleash the hounds!" was a cool line, but from now on, the best shall always be "Deploying Dogs!"

Marco Vujevic

Based on my display of expertise here? 🙈 I bet others could do that a lot better

Marco Reps

Can't wait to see an Electronic OCD like you walk us through hand soldering surface mounts!
