A sign of life from the new output board

So this baby did not burst into flames right away AND the cv portion of the circuit which I have already populated seems to kinda work. For the current limits I'll have to find the right component values in some cases by scientific trial and error.

Goal for this month: Make FPGA put out waveforms at a couple of kHz and have them control the output board. I would expect that by itself to be an exceedingly boring video, so the FPGA project video (scheduled for the 19. September) might be something x-ray related maybe?

I haven't set that yet, I'll aim for 'as cheap as possible' but the first prototype is going to be 200$-400$ just in raw parts

What is your target price for the final osmu product?

David Miedema

The final OSMU will be able to become waveform generator, filters, DSP and amplifier at the same time 😋

it might be less boring if you route the output through some resonant filters add fancier waveforms, and then run it through a guitar fx processor and amp @ 11. Perhaps not useful for your use case, though.

scientific trial and error. Reminds me of what we determined the letters in the RPG programming language stood for Random Programming Guesswork.
