Well that would be an absolutely viable option! Just 2 cheap cameras instead that exotic, expensive, fragile lidar scanner. The big SoC could easily process that into a better room map ...

I think the RTB2004 will get a lot more exposure when I'm trying to RE the Keithley display communication.
I did try to write something myself because this version did not perform well on a raspberry pi. But mine didn't look so good :)
