An idea came to me when I was chatting with my bots and thinking about what to do with this year's April Fool: what if you could talk with or even date the ghost girl in a horror game? A fake horror game for April Fools? Sounds like it!
The game only gets into the main theme in Act 2 with a new game start screen, while Act 1 looks like a horror game you can find anywhere in the world. The pace is a bit too slow, so you can skip Act 1 completely by interacting 3 times with the notice board at the beginning.
Plot-wise, I thought through the whole story roughly in just one day, so I thought it would be pretty easy. But when I actually wrote the core character (Ellie) out, I got stuck in her dialogue - I can't think of anything new about her. However, a friend's question about Ellie hit me: Who are you, why are you doing this, how did you become like this? I realised Ellie is too empty and I don't even understand her as a character. And this is exactly why I cannot think of new dialogue from her. So, I rewrote Ellie after Act 2 was half-complete, which actually took more time than I thought, and yet, I’m still not 100% satisfied.
I also introduced other new changes in graphics, UI, sound, resolution, and gallery in the game itself, so make sure to find me in the gallery using an item (Memory Key) in your backpack after reaching the end of Act 2. If possible, I want to introduce more than one tiny in the team to better express the size and power difference.
About potential improvements, I could have improved the character appearance consistency with some techniques, allocated my time better to introduce more fan service (but again, it’s mainly planned in Act 4), and shortened the game update period. A known issue is that if you play it with Joiplay, some Audio files cannot be loaded (it will be fixed in the next version).
