Seattle Trip Report Pt. 2

Our Seattle trip report continues today with a brief background on Lynne and Dick, and a wonderful image of our documentarian Paul Hildebrandt.

Lynne and Dick became friends and ran off-the-books missions for rear echelon soldiers to experience combat - known as the “Black Dynamite Hunting Club” - while Lynne and Tilt served as the leadership elements on the same recon team for some time. All three ran recon teams, and undertook some of the most daring behind-the-lines missions of any war in history.

People that know them share the view that for certain valorous actions, Lynne and Dick especially should have been awarded the Medal Of Honor. But these guys don’t care about medals. They care most about their friends, and indigenous team-mates, the guys whose actions on each mission meant the difference between life and death for the whole team.

As part of its preparatory work for SOG Out Of Shadow, Paul Hildebrandt at Eventide Visuals has partnered with the team to produce a documentary based on the deeds of the men of SOG. Award-winning writer Ralph Pezzullo has also joined the team as Show Lead, developing a TV miniseries based on the same incredible materials.
