As you sail round Hope Point, all you will see are cliffs covered with dense forest, a small fishing village along the coast below the cliffs, and a couple of rocky trails winding up the cliffs. ... Nothing much of interest going on here, may as well keep sailing on by.....
If you do happen to land and make it up the cliff paths, you will find the hidden town of New Hope built on the terraces of an old open cut mine pit, or perhaps it was a quarry? All around the top of the pit, is a deep trench with a protective wall built in the middle of it - set low in the trench so that it does not show above the forest.
There is one walled entrance with a traders hall that visitors must pass through to enter the town. And there is only 1 road out through the wilderness to connect them to other places.
Since mining stopped, the inhabitants have been working hard to make their pit-town green and cosy, a secret haven hidden away from the world. Though recently, some have taken to delving beneath and even building down there in the darkness.
As usual, I went overboard with variations....
And, just for fun, I also created a sea monster skeleton asset that can be placed over any water area on a map, and it looks like it is under water and partly covered by sand... there is one variation for Navigators & Explorers and a few more variations for Surveyors, including a couple of dry land versions
When it lived, it had many eyes, strange wing-shapes and a long flexible barbed tail. ... Now it is just bare bones on the sea floor, apparently resting in peace. .....
I hope that this adds another interesting settlement to your growing worlds
Have fun!!
SPECIAL COLLABORATION WITH JAN LOOS

This is so that the large ones can have a reasonable quality, but there are still versions under 5mb for those with file upload size limits on Vtt sites...
