I was in kind of a low mood for most of the summer and I lost the momentum I had on the first part of the story, but the last couple weeks have been good and I've got through page 35 pencilled, and I'm on a steady clip inking, so I think you can expect some proper updates going forward.

Because the goma are animal-people, a lot of their animal features become obsolete because of the hybridization with the human form. The tail is no longer necessary for balance, and the long muzzle is no longer necessary for being close to the ground and picking up scent. So I wanted to keep these "obsolete" aspects, but give them new qualities in the world of spirits. And so the goma can use their sense of smell to pick up on unseen presences in the world of spirits, and also can use their tails, tusks, horns, etc to dowse and divine things with.

I think the fox's name is going to be Star Rotten. So far I've used a naming convention for foxes that combines something mystical with something repulsive.
