Wayfarers: Awakening

The soft sound of the sea lulls you awake. With a gasp you shoot upright from your spot in the sand, and you heave water from your lungs with a sputter. Your mouth is wiped clean with a soggy paw, the taste of salt heavy on your tongue as you look around blearily.

The ocean behind you laps at your tail, horizon stretching farther than you can see. Seagulls... or what you think are seagulls (they look awful large for a bird...) fly overhead and past the tall rocks breaking through the sand and sea. If you take a closer look at the rocks though... are some of them bones?

You stand with a wobble in your legs and a question in the back of your mind.

The piece I created to act as the community discord's banner + Welcome committee splash art! It ALSO doubles as the base introduction into the lore that'll be running behind the scenes as we go. :)

The grand idea is that not only does the lore act as my overall brand (adventure, monsters, lighthearted stories, BIG TEETH), it also acts as an interactive part our community can engage with however they'd like! A very casual, simple, and loose ARPG-esque story/game but without the grind or exclusivity aspect.

"Canon" installments (art piece + short lore bit, as seen here) will occur every so often, including for the likes of events, contests, collaborations, and a lot of the perks my Patreon will feature from here on will be tied to the story to allow you guys to engage with it and be a part of it. Hence the Lil Monster character creator! There will be more like that in the future.

The Lil Monster in the image is the stand in "Player Character" for when I don't use cameos, but many future pieces will allow for the cameos of community-designed lil monsters to better represent everyone and allow folks to see their characters in official promo art. :)
