*Steven Universe* Season 5 Episodes 17-18 UNCUT REACTION

Yeah I think people's fan theories can often ruin peoples experience with a show. It's fun to theory craft but I often take mine with a grain of salt. Why was their such long breaks between the episodes in this season?

Ooh i'm gonna have a field day re-watching this show with all this new knowledge! I love that.

Also, one sweet little moment I love to highlight: you can hear in gem society that you address your authority figure as "my __" as in, "my diamond," rodonite saying "my morganite." Back in the episode Rose's Scabbard, Pearl replays a memory where Rose called her "my pearl," and some people were like, sad on pearl's behalf because they thought it meant she thought of Pearl like a possession. But in fact it was a diamond saluting a pearl. Like a king calling his servant, "your majesty." Rose could've been better to Pearl but she really did love and respect her.

Before this episode, I was convinced yellow diamond secretly reached out to pearl to convince her to shatter pink, because yellow was sick of her being a big embarrassment and wanted the rebellion over. Then she was free to double cross the crystal gems with the corruption blast and the cluster, to cover her tracks. A lot of folks were disappointed their complicated theories got tossed out but honestly? It's a kids show. I'm not surprised they didn't make the murder real lol. Going back it's clear they were planting seeds from the very beginning. The issue was mainly how the original show took forever to air, it gave folks too much time to theorycraft! And then they got attached to their own ideas so nothing the show did would satisfy them. But after all this time, I think most folks have come around. This is a really really good twist, I'm glad it wasn't spoiled for you.
