Summary: A new home, a bold move—and the unknown begins to stir.
Tony was sitting in the living room together with his parents the next day, in front of them was a large 70 inch flat TV screen.
On the screen there were two circles. One orange and another blue.
His mom smiled with a confused look at him and asked "So what is it you wanted to show us, tesoro?"
Tony smiled widely and gestured toward the TV before saying as dramatically as his six-year-old body would allow "Our new family members. You are up, guys."
The first to speak was JARVIS "Greetings Mr. and Mrs. Stark. It is a pleasure to meet you. I'm JARVIS at your service."
FRIDAY wasn't far behind him, though her tone was much more casual "Hi there Boss's mom and Boss's dad, call me FRIDAY."
Both his parents were rendered speechless, their jaws hanging open and if it was a cartoon he was sure they would hit the floor.
His dad recovered at least enough to speak, even though it was dazed "You actually did it."
Tony closed his eyes and smirked with satisfaction—he never got the chance to show Howard JARVIS and now that he does, the pride filling him caused him to say "Of course I did. I'm Tony Fucking Stark."
This seemed to completely shake Howard out of his stupor and he roared with laughter, while his mom's shock turned into a scandalized expression and she admonished him immediately "Anthony Edward Stark, watch your mouth!"
Tony winced. With all the excitement he slipped back to old boasting habits, which was hardly appropriate for a six-year-old.
His Dad looked at the screen with stars in his eyes and he asked "So have you limited them I presume?"
Tony tilted his head, not comprehending his father's question "Why would I do that?"
Before an argument could begin JARVIS intervened "If I may Mr. Stark, Sir has programmed us with safety protocols that will shut us down in case we contemplate a plan that will directly harm human life, as such there is no danger in the data we are allowed access to."
His dad's smile widened and he said gently "I should have never questioned my genius."
His mom spoke next "So are those two going to help around the house?"
FRIDAY was quick to respond, her voice more cheerful than he heard in a while "Of course Boss's mom. I will take care of the shopping from now on and..."
Tony tuned them out. While his parents got acquainted with his AIs Tony was already planning for what project he would tackle next. The goal was to rebuild everything he could from his previous life... That would take a while.
Tony groaned and leaned back in his chair waiting for the holographic screen in front of him to change from red to blue so he could know if his latest attempt would be the successful one. He was awake for... He took a glance at the clock hanging on the wall... 14 hours—shit, his mom is going to be pissed.
He might be 16 years old tomorrow, but he was clever enough to know not to cross his mother's lines, and one of them was how many uninterrupted hours of work he could have before taking a break.
The last decade was a busy one for Tony. Luckily part of the memories passed with JARVIS and FRIDAY was all the schematics he ever designed, both for private use and for SI, so it was easier for him to slowly rebuild his equipment back to the level they were closer to the end of his previous life.
After four years of slowly patenting new tech under his name, manufacturing and selling them using SI, at the age of ten Tony was revealed to the public alongside JARVIS and FRIDAY. Of course the world went crazy about him and funny enough he was once again dubbed 'The Futurist'.
It was at that age that Tony also insisted on starting to take martial arts classes, and not just boxing like last time—he wanted to have better agility and some moves under his belt that would buy him some time in case his suit would malfunction.
He already had black belts in most of them. His parents accepted and integrated his AIs into their daily lives easier than Tony could even hope. By her request FRIDAY was largely in charge of taking care of the house and his family while JARVIS would assist him in the lab.
Speaking of a lab, after the entire reveal thing at age ten, his parents decided to surprise him by converting the back yard into an independent lab just for him.
One of the first things Tony created in it was the arc-reactor with the Starkanium element Tony finished after his dad left him the start of the project in his old life.
Another fun fact he learned during the five years after the snap was that he could use Starkanium to create artificial Vibranium. He didn't dare do it in his last life, not wanting to hurt Wakanda's economy, but here he had no such issue. And his test was proven successful.
With a frame made of Vibranium and core of Starkanium the miniature arc reactor was never as efficient as the one he created here. He also took a page out of SHIELD's book and installed light reflecting coating, which allowed the arc reactor to be left on his chest completely invisible.
Tony's current project, one that he was working on for a year and kept getting held back by one thing or another, was to recreate the nano-suit with nanites made of Vibranium. Up until now he already ran three tests and they all failed, so now he was exhausted but too anxious to even dream of leaving the lab.
Tony considered taking a short nap on the table, as his eyes were already closing themselves when JARVIS's voice filled the room "Sir, the results of the simulation have arrived."
Tony looked sharply at the screen. As he looked the screen turned from red to blue and the message on it read 'Simulation successful'.
Tony completely forgot his fatigue as he jumped from his chair and screamed "Hell yeah!"
JARVIS chuckled slightly before congratulating him in his usual polite way "Well done, sir. Shall I start the production of the housing unit?"
Tony smiled widely "Please do, J."
The screen disappeared from view and JARVIS spoke again "Very well sir, I suggest you head to bed—Mrs. Stark is bound to be displeased if you remain here any further."
Tony chuckled but easily agreed "You're right buddy, probably best to call it a night."
When Tony woke up the next morning he acted like every other day. JARVIS gave him his usual daily routine reading, he washed his face and headed to the kitchen.
He almost had a heart attack when his parents and AIs all shouted together "Happy Birthday!" the moment he walked in.
The morning was very nice. Like every birthday Tony had, the three of them sat and ate a special breakfast together with his favorite ice-cream cake for dessert.
Jarvis, Ana and their kids called him to wish him a happy birthday, though something in their tone seemed to be a little strained, but Tony didn't dwell on it.
His parents asked him to meet them in the living room. Tony sat wearily in his favorite armchair while his parents shared the couch with matching worried looks.
Finally his dad took a deep breath and said carefully "There is something that we should have spoken about with you a while ago."
"Okay..." Tony encouraged him apprehensively.
His dad shifted uncomfortably in his seat while he spoke "Due to Japan's recent advancements, Ed and I decided to open a new headquarters there.... One that I will manage."
Everything seemed to fall into place. The recent Japanese lessons his parents insisted he take, all the quiet chats with Jarvis, the guilt obvious on his parents' faces. "We are moving to Japan." Tony concluded flatly.
His dad nodded, his expression guilty and his mom forced a small sad smile "Well, you are called a genius for a good reason."
Tony sighed before he shrugged and said calmly "It's fine."
His parents looked at him with wide eyes and Tony just smiled back and said casually "As long as I get my lab I hardly care about where it is."
And it was true. Thanks to all of his patents Tony's own bank account had more than enough in it to buy a house for himself in the states if it became necessary for him to be back here, otherwise, maybe it was time to try something else after all those years here.
And with his nano-suit now ready, all urgent projects had been dealt with. His parents seemed to be happy about the move as well.
All that was left was to wait and see what was waiting for them there.
A couple of months later Tony found himself in a car driving from the international airport to the town of Kuoh.
Tony had a team of trusted SI workers who wouldn't spill anything, not even to his parents, readying the lab in their new home with all of his newest stuff.
Tony spent the last decade also researching. He looked for any account, mention, subtext, or reference for things like superheroes, super beings, aliens and the such.
And he found nothing. In his original world by this time the world already saw all kind of crazy things and signs with alien invasion on its way, but this world had none of those.
The closest thing they had were the old mythology stories, which Tony read through quite a few of them and they seemed to be pretty much the same as the ones from his world.
Hopefully there would be no catastrophe, or any major event that would require Tony to become Iron Man again. While he did recreate the suit, and all the systems, he did so in case of emergency.
He would much rather not use it ever again, and that's why he kept this entire project a secret from his parents. When the time was right he would patent the nanite tech, but that would be far in the future.
That was when they turned into their new home. His parents already showed him the plans of the place so he knew what to expect, and still the mansion looked so much more impressive up close.
It was three stories, that spread on quite a large piece of land. Next to the main house was attached a larger than ordinary garage, where already a good number of cars were waiting for them.
But what excited Tony the most was the underground huge lab that stretched even under the yard and any other owned land, which gave Tony about twice the place he had back in his USA lab.
Tony wasn't exactly sure why his parents went with that enormous design instead of a more modest house like the one they lived in until now, and what he found even more absurd was the entrance door to the mansion, which was a simple single door in the front of the house and a sliding back door that exited to the back yard.
The moment they entered through the door into the entrance hall FRIDAY's voice greeted them "Welcome Boss, Grandma, Grandpa."
Oh yes, Tony's heart always skipped a beat when FRIDAY called his parents like that. Those were the names his mom insisted FRIDAY would call them after Tony explained why he considered her his baby girl. She tried to make JARVIS do it as well, but the older AI had a strict streak to him and refused.
The first floor of the house was where the large living room and huge kitchen were located. The second floor was where most of the ordinary rooms were, and when he said most he meant eight, larger than average rooms, with two bathrooms as well. The third and final floor was where the parental unit was as well as a couple of rooms that would serve as offices for his dad and mom.
Of course Tony had the house already prepared with all the camera, sound systems and other smart systems he could think of so FRIDAY would have more of a free reign in helping around the house.
Well, this house was certain to make quite an impression.
It was time to start his new life in a new country. Hopefully nothing too weird would be involved this time around.
