Our new video editing helper Jo joins us with her friend Steve to help us bring you an episode dedicated to the romantic relationship between Homura and Madoka, which was first promised way back in the first or second episode of the show. Because you know what we definitely don't talk enough about on the show? Lesbians, and how gay every character is! all the time!! constantly!!! :D
Thanks for your patience while new episodes are so sparse so far in 2021, which continues to kick our butts, but the podcast ain't dead yet, especially not with that new movie on the way, which we also talk a little bit about in this episode. As always, thanks for your support!

I really appreciated this. It's definitely a reading that is invited/alluded to by the show, and stuff like performative repression as related to Sayaka is a neat take that I never would have considered. I don't blame anyone for not seeing it though. So much of Homura's admiration for Madoka has other contributing factors, hard to tell where she lies on the sexuality factor alone divorced from everything else. Plus much of the relationship is written with a very lesbian, or at least pro-intimate female relationship, genre database in mind. Definitely comes more prominent of a reading when you factor in the memetic mutation that happened after the show became popular though.
