Day in My Life: Living in Tokyo 🍿 NEW VIDEO!

Hey guys,
Hope you're all having a great weekend so far!

And so here it is, my first vlog from Tokyo as a resident. It still feels rather weird to live here in Tokyo but I've settled in at last. I don't even miss Sendai - though I miss not having the studio. Fortunately, we should be able to move it before August!

And we kick things off with the first Day in the Life video on Abroad in Japan in 5 years! Cats, rats, Shinjuku bad boys, a Swedish surfer and even Sharla. You never know who you might run into on a day out in Tokyo.

From cooking a delicious dinner and surfing, to exploring Shinjuku's alleyways and a broken toilet, truly no stone is left unturned.

We've got a Patreon exclusive episode to follow with some cool deleted scenes that I removed begrudgingly to make the Abroad in Japan video more lean, but for now enjoy the first Tokyo vlog of many and let me know where you'd like to see me go off and explore next!

Looking forward to the dawn of a new Abroad in Japan era!

Have a great weekend,

Soooo...about those behind the scenes...

I don't mean to be a dick, LOL, but it looks lik you're spending quite a long time on editing, when it would definitely be better to be out there creating more content, or just enjoying Tokyo! 😊 To be fair, when I edit things that I've done I do take longer than if it's something someone else's filmed and I have a storyboard etc. Having said that, I think the production level of your content is fantastic, has become extremely professional, and I wouldn't change it for the world. Both my brother-in-law and I went to film school and he hires people from the Philippines to do the editing because it costs five times less to pay someone per hour, and Apparently you can find some people who are really, seriously good. It's why BlackMagic's DaVinci - as mentioned in my previous comment - is so good, because for that one-off £245, multiple people can be editing at once, and there's no shit-eating monthly fee (and no lol, I don't work for BlackMagic!). What's great about it, is obviously you can still oversee the editing process without having to be there in person. In my spare time I volunteer for the British Heart Foundation so I enjoy volunteering and would offer my help, especially if it was back around when you started..., but seeing as you can probably afford it (tbf this Patreon must bring in adecebt amount..) It probably is much more worth looking into training some people to edit in your "style" and then overseeing it like a producer or director would.. I think it would be truly amazing if you could one day set up your own production company or film studio, and have a bunch of editors all working together! I don't know if that's what you want, passing where the channel is come from and got thus far I wouldn't be surprised if now you're in Tokyo it goes even more, and quicker! Might I tentatively recommend talking to my brother-in-law who works with multi-million dollar companies in Australia doing filming and editing in his studio. But he will probably tell you the same thing as I would, which is find some good people in countries where the living wage is legitimately five times lower than in the west. Good luck and I really hope you can expand your 'empire' lol

I was in Tokyo last month and stumbled upon that quiet alleyway behind Golden Gai and was oddly fascinated by it. It was so calm in contrast to the loud street that was right behind it. Just seeing you sitting there makes me instantly crave going back :) Can't wait to see more of your life in Tokyo!

Why did you decide to move to Tokyo? Will you recreate the alley set in this new place? Who is Sharla? I'd like to see more about that little pocket park / shrine that you discovered on your walk.

Great video as always! Excited for you and Sharla, to an exciting new chapter in your lives. I find myself waiting for your new videos nowadays, thank you for sharing your talent and showing us a slice of life in Japan!
